Kathina Robe-Offering Ceremony 2010

The Khmer Buddhist Temple of Georgia would like to invite you to our Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony this year! We welcome you to participate in this ceremony with us!

Dates:
11/13/2010 – 11/14/2010 (November 13th-14th, 2010)

Scheduling
Saturday Evening: November 13th, 2010

08:00PM: Arrival of Guests
08:30PM: Paying respect to the Triple Gem, taking the Five Precepts and Monks chanting
09:30PM: Offering of Mr. Khen’s SPECIAL soup

Sunday Morning: November 14th, 2010
09:30AM: Arrival of Guests
09:30AM: Paying respects to the Triple-Gem and taking the Five Precepts
10:30AM: Putting alms in to alms-bowls, food offering to the monks
11:00AM: Blessing given by the monks, and offer Lunch to monks.
12:00PM: Communal Lunch to all of Lay’s people.

Kathina ceremony is neccessarily a monastic one, supported by the generous devotees. Please come and join us in order to preserve our Buddhism, and to perform the merit for your happy life now and in the future.  May peace and happiness be upon you and your family!

Departing for Phka Sammki Alabama

I would like to wish a safe trip and a wonderful time to some of the Khmer Krom members who will be travelling to Mobile, Alabama to attend their Phka Sammki.  I visited them at our temple before they departed at about 8am and we are all proud of eachother of our merits! I hope that we can only continue to do better and contribute more for the common good of the Khmer Krom community in Atlanta. Mr. Son Ngoc Tri, Mr. Lam En, Mr. Tang Khinh, Mr. Cao Rinh, and our president and vice-president Trinh Tran and Saroum Tang respectively raised about $700 for the Khmer Krom temple in Alabama. Sedonta 2009

We would like to thank all that attended Sedonta this year at Watt Thammarangsey.  We hope you had a wonderful time for those who came either Saturday, Sunday, or both days.  We would like to thank Monk Vithu Tuon for administering the Sedonta ceremonies and the Khmer Krom committee for all festivities.  Special thanks to those who brought food, refreshments, and other materials for a worry-free, smooth ceremony.  This year we hope that every Khmer Krom member can help build a stronger foundation for our temple by donating or contributing services to better provide for our Khmer Krom community.  Your help would gladly be appreciated in the betterment, prosperity, and the longevity of our temple to fortify the unity of the Khmer Krom.  We hope to see you again this year and hope that you’ve enjoyed Sedonta 2009.

2009 Sedonta

This year’s Sedonta will occur one week before its actual date, which will now be held on September 12th and the 13th instead of September 19th and 20th.  We cordially invite everyone to join and celebrate Sedonta with us at our temple this year!

Kathina Ten at Watt Thammarangsey has been a success and a wonderful event.  We would like to thank everybody who were able to attend the event and we hope that you had a wonderful time.

We would also like to give very special thanks to:  Dan Truong & Family, Son Ngoc Tri & family, Kim Him & family, Tang Kit & family, & Miss Lay Huoi and family for contributing their efforts for new kathina robes for the monks.
